Job Description:



Job Purpose:


Our Master Data Management Generalist will be responsible for the day-to-day organization and facilitation of data management practices to support overall product data health by executing fundamental data management principles. This position will a part of the Master Data Management function that supports Veritiv's revenue growth strategy by overseeing the technical design of Product, Customer, and Supplier data ensuring that there is one source of truth for relevant master data points.



Job Responsibilities:


● Build and maintain relationships with Category Managers and other business stakeholders to become an expert of your assigned data categories.
● Analyze requests from internal stakeholders to provide rationale and solution documentation to resolve taxonomy and item creation challenges.
● Align on attribute definitions and ensuring consistency across all categories for best-in-class data integrity.
● Manage the creation of attributes as determined through Data Governance model.
● Conduct routine audits of applicable Data Health and improve data quality consistently based on reporting tools provided.
● Provide direction and alignment of Veritiv interests to the Master Data Management function.
● Ensure a data strategy that supports the specific needs of all Veritiv functions to maximize growth/revenue opportunities.
● Adhere, advocate, and support Data Governance practice throughout Veritiv.
● Other related duties as assigned.



Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:



● Manage the entry and maintenance of all item master data and extension into legacy systems requiring a general knowledge of downstream system integrations and resulting impacts.
● Implement/Maintain communications processes and tools to drive engagement with business stakeholder and create transparency with business partners.
● Partner with the business to ensure item data is setup and flowing properly to avoid communication issues and create a great user experience.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
● Study or experience in Information Management, Business Management, Marketing, or Information Technology preferred.
● Ability to build relationships with business leaders and drive engagement to understand their current and future strategies.
● Must have a customer-focused mindset and create strategies to encourage collaboration, and ensure the team understands and can meet customers' needs.
● Positive attitude and work well under pressure.
● Embraces change and is not afraid to challenge status-quo.
● Strong knowledge of distribution and analytics including current and future philosophies on data management, systems, tools, and optimization strategies.
● Knowledge of PIM, Governance, and/or MDM technologies is strongly preferred.

Work Experience:


● 1-3 years of related job experience.


● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.


● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.


● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.


● Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.


● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.


● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).


● Strong planning and organization skills are required.



















Education:


● Bachelor's Degree Preferred
