SUMMARY
A Manufacturing techs responsibilities include the mixing of raw materials to create finished products according to the batch sheets. Also responsible for gauging the correct chemicals and sampling finished product to quality for approval. Understands all the companys products as well as all the mixing equipment.
JOB DUTIES:
Cleaning all equipment, tanks, and vessels as neededObserves and follows safety procedures and S.O. Ps set by the companyRefers all issues to the lead/supervisorTransfers finish product into drums, and totes to complete ordersAssists other techs as neededPrepares containers for fillingMakes sure all chemicals returned to inventory and containers are labeled and cleanSets up and monitors all mixing tanks, vessels, and mixersObtains and understands all documentation for blending productsEnsures all finished chemicals are put into to inventory has the correct quantity and information on the chemicalsOperates all equipment including tanks, mixers, scales, meters, pump, etc.Completes all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely mannerSubmits finished product samples to the lab for approvalMonitors all temperatures on batches that require heating and coolingVerifies raw chemical usage on each batch are added correctly with correct unit of measureMoves chemicals within the yard and plant on forkliftsAble to work with limited supervisionOther duties may be assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
1-2 years experience in a blending or mixing environment.High school diploma or GED equivalent.Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions including safety rules, operating procedures, batch recipes and material identification.Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as making the necessary conversions.Able to handle 55-gallon drums and other containers up to 60 poundsAble to walk and stand for long periods of time.Must be certified to operate a forkliftMust have basic computer skillsDisplays good troubleshooting skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
At times a hot dusty environment.Must be able to pick up 60 lbs.95% of the day you will be on your feet.
