Position Overview:



The Data and Analytics Platform Architect will evolve our enterprise data integration, medallion processing and analytics platform which will include multiple products, tools, and technologies. The ideal candidate will also assist in building a mesh layer that effectively utilizes multiple data repositories to support our data products and a wide variety of consumption patterns. The scope of responsibilities extends to proactive exploration of products and tools to enhance digital capabilities, operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration, and a steadfast dedication to delivering incremental business value is paramount.



Responsibilities:



  • Evolve current data and analytics platform to support a wide variety of business and technology use cases and enabling an integrated view of data sources across multiple data repositories to create seamless data flows.


  • Ensure ETL/ELT processes and tools are efficiently working to providing high-quality data to enable advanced analytics (AI/ML) and reporting. Identify data supply chain bottlenecks and enable solution patterns in the data platform, continuously monitoring and optimizing for performance.


  • Evolve design and approach for data mesh that promotes decentralized data ownership and domain-oriented data product teams.


  • Assist in establishing best practices for data governance, quality, and security and applying appropriate policy enforcement points in the data and analytics platform.


  • Collaborate with various business stakeholders across Motiva to understand data and analytics requirements and translate them into solution patterns in the data and analytics platform. Work closely with data engineers, analysts, data scientists to ensure alignment with data platform.


  • Create documentation for data platform, integration processes, and best practices on an as-needed basis.





Experience and Qualifications:




Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field


  • 10+ years of proven experience in designing/evolving data and analytics platforms including solid understanding of data ingestion (ETL/ELT), medallion processing, ML Ops, Cloud data services etc.


  • Proven experience with 2 or more of the following - SAP Datasphere, Cognite Data Fusion (CDF), Databricks, Azure Data Services.


  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure services is a must along with experience with Spark analytics along with delta lake framework, data lakehouse and data mesh architectures.


  • Strong understanding of data mesh principles and decentralized data architecture.


  • Experience working on or supporting large enterprise-wide data projects and initiatives. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.





Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree


  • Prior experience in Oil & Gas, Downstream is a big plus.
