Innova Solutions is seeking a Systems Admin/Infrastructure Engineer for an onsite role in St. Paul, MN.

Position Type: Full-time, Contract
Duration: 6 Months+extensions
Location: St. Paul, MN - this is a 100% onsite role.

***MUST have strong Active Directory, more of a 'Jack of all trades' person is needed.
***Long term contract - starts 6 months, but will have extensions!
***NOT Open to Vendors/Suppliers!

SUMMARY

The Infrastructure Engineer provides outstanding customer service and contributes to successfully achieving the objectives of the Information Services team and greater strategies of the Association by being primarily responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and certification of Company's infrastructure. This includes everything from desktops to servers; phones to network switches; assistance with policy adoption/creation/enforcement to SLA measurement and improvement opportunities.
S/he is the primary technical point of contact to our managed services provider, and the main (often the first technical) point of contact to other 3rd party service providers and/or vendors. The Infrastructure Engineer leads and/or coordinates the implementation and support of various projects in a wide range of technologies including networking, server, virtualization, storage, and monitoring technologies, be it on premise or cloud based. Additionally, the engineer will provide escalation support for Tier II and III issues across the infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Participates in the design, implementation, maintenance, capacity, monitoring, and administration of all company's environments - development, staging, production - across multiple technologies.

  • Ensures IT system security baselines are met, and security improvements are implemented across the infrastructure.

  • Participates in evaluating future technologies and makes recommendations for software and hardware upgrades.

  • Effectively manages tickets and constantly communicates/documents to users and management the status of projects, problems, and escalations.

  • Maintains the integrity of the systems through upgrades, support, and new technology implementation.

  • Provides input as to technical direction of CUF's internal systems.

  • Supports and follows compliance requirements for attestations such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.

  • Actively participates and follows the change management process.

  • Ensures a high-level of availability in the data center(s)

  • Participates in the design, implementation, and execution of backup and disaster recovery planning.

  • Conducts proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Creates, documents, and follows the standards for service delivery, professionalism, and ethics.

  • Acts as a mentor to all other members of the Info Services organization as well as others at Catholic United

  • System Administration duties - on prem and Azure environments

  • Integration Administration duties - understand, document, become the focal point of data, network, applications, and security across all environments (as a sys admin). "Become the glue" to make all other functional parts work as effectively as possible.

  • Own and manage the overall asset list - desktops, servers, all other important technical hardware

  • Lead/own the deployment cycle for new/replacement desktops

  • Performs other duties as best fits internal and external customer needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Commensurate equivalent experience will be considered.

  • 5+ years' experience implementing and troubleshooting issues related to Microsoft technologies. Including but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authority, Network Policy Server, and IIS.

  • 5+ years' experience end-to-end support of a company's infrastructure. Experience with infrastructure supporting over 150+ employees across the United States strongly preferred.

  • Ability to accommodate on-call rotation, weekend and afterhours work that is regularly required.

  • Advanced level knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authority, Network Policy Server, and IIS.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Autopilot is preferred.

  • Advanced level knowledge of virtualization technologies, on-premise, and cloud based technologies. including but not limited to VMware vSphere, Horizon View, Hyper-V, and Azure (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of backup solutions. Veeam experience is a preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of SAN technologies and Fibre Channel. Nimble experience is a preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

  • Must exhibit professional conduct and work well with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.

  • Proven knowledge of IT Infrastructure required.

  • Must be able to work with multiple large -scale, concurrent projects acting as project lead, manager and/or coordinator. Must understand the company and department's objectives to prioritize activities.

  • Able to conduct research to find answers to questions and solutions to problems. Ability to make quality decisions with limited supervision.

  • Ability to establish technical credibility with a wide range of customer contacts.

  • Ability to "read" the user and adapt behavior/approach accordingly

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: Between $50-65/hr W2.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
