Summary:
The Environmental Manager coordinates with corporate environmental personnel and administers plant environmental programs in accordance with federal and state environmental laws and regulations. Promotes continuous environmental improvement and a positive image of the plant in the community. Uses independent judgment in performing job responsibilities. Reports to the Plant Manager. Works with general and specific policies and objectives. Refers to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy is needed.
What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Participates in projects involving environmental issues, Including contact with regulatory agencies and accompanies inspectors during inspections.
Ensures compliance with all environmental permits and all applicable federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations pertaining to
1. Air Quality
2. Water Quality
3. Waste Management
Assists regulatory agencies by providing information and assistance as required.
Performs inspections, and sampling as required by various permits.
Coordinates company EMS and ISO 14001 certification at the facility. Conducts audits and training for facility personnel.
Computer skills and use of various types of software for reporting and data acquisition systems.
Maintain updated plant environmental records library and filing system.
Completes, administers and/or assists in preparation of the following as required:
Air emission reports.
Air emissions inventory reporting.
Titles V permit summary and annual reporting.
Stack test reports.
Discharge monitoring reports and/or other water pollution reports, where applicable.
Sanitary waste monitoring reports.
NPDES permit DMR.
Industrial Wastewater discharge report
Greenhouse Gas reporting
Solid waste management reports.
Waste minimization reports.
In cooperation with corporate environmental personnel, coordinates with source testing and environmental consultants when needed.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Minimum Four-year college degree in environmental resource management or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the environmental field in cement, mining or related industry preferred.
Experience working with regulatory agencies strongly preferred
Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations. Working knowledge of environmental programs, policies and practices applicable to a cement manufacturing environment. Skills needed include planning, organization, problem solving, decision making, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation:
Salary ranges from $92,000-$110,000
Eligible for yearly bonus
