This position is responsible for assisting the Creative Services Manager in handling graphic design projects, performing print jobs, completing post-production of projects, maintaining cleanliness and order in Creative Services, and assisting all clients - students, employees, and outside customers alike.
Responsible for using graphic design skills to visually communicate on-campus needs, events, and other topics while adhering to and maintaining College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) brand identity on many mediums and platforms.
Typical Job Functions
Uses graphic design skills to visually communicate on-campus needs, events, and other topics while adhering to and maintaining College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) brand identity on many mediums and platforms
Prints simple and multi-step jobs
Assists in various post-production needs, including cutting paper to size, doing spiral binds, hole-punching, laminating, shrink-wrapping, mounting, and adhesives
Assists clients with printing and other needs
Attends project meetings to assess needs and find solutions
Organizes work orders and meets deadlines
Prevents copyright and licensing violations within campus publications
Mocks up projects, gathers feedback and completes user-testing on projects
Performs price quotes for petential projects
Photographs CEI events as needed
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePortfolio of high quality, original graphic design workGood understanding and use of art and design principles
Excellent understanding and application of typography and hierarchy
Self-initiative to keep up-to-date on design trends, technology, and professional techniques
Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of projects
Openness to giving and receiving constructive criticism
Strong research and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to perform basic math skills
Ability to use Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop for graphic design purposes
Incumbent must reside in the State of Idaho (CEI doesn't currently sponsor H-1B visas)
Employees work indoors and on occasion, assigned outdoor projects. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions and lift up to 30 pounds.
Onsight work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required.
Background Investigations:
Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks.
Work Environment:
Work with computers, printing equipment, and inside/outside work. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
