Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Three years of experience in education, health professions education, higher education, or other professional programs or in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and skills will be considered.


Nature & Purpose of Position:

Serves the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine by coordinating training programs across the college. Collaborates with the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine administration, faculty, and staff as well as the professional development and continuing medical education committee to coordinate and facilitate trainings to support professional development initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinates all training activities in the college. Works with the professional development and continuing medical education committee, takes minutes, organizes materials, coordinates efforts, and provides needed support for all training events. Responsible for ordering supplies, catering, and the reconciliation of expense reports. Coordinates travel for speakers/presenters and completes travel expense reports. Tracks expenditures and presents monthly reports. Helps with the development of needs assessments and accreditation documents. Tracks and reports detailed information regarding each offering and participant attendance records. Assists with the development of presentations and workshop materials for professional development. Develops flyers, invitations, and sends communications about training offerings. Serves as the point of contact for the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program and assists others with requirements. Communicates with other entities for accreditation and training needs. Participates in activities to gain a better understanding of the training and development needs. Works with faculty and staff and helps with onboarding new personnel. Assists with special projects. Performs other duties as assigned.


Other Specifications:

Ability to meet deadlines for meetings, projects, reports and assignments. Demonstrates strong computer skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, preceptors, community partners, and other agencies.
