Watson Metal Masters is seeking a skilled Sanitary Tubing Welder to join our growing team! We specialize in crafting high-quality stainless-steel solutions and are dedicated to working closely with our clients to meet their sanitary tubing and piping needs.
Job Summary
As a Sanitary Tubing Welder, you will play a critical role in our production team, working to weld and fabricate sanitary tubing and piping systems for our stainless-steel products. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in sanitary welding, interpreting blueprints, and working with stainless steel tubing and piping. This role requires a keen attention to detail, a strong understanding of sanitary welding standards, and the ability to work within strict safety guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan and execute sanitary weld layouts.
Perform TIG welding of sanitary tubing and piping to meet high-quality standards, ensuring cleanliness and proper fit.
Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors or deviations from specifications.
Adhere to and enforce strict safety regulations, including always wearing appropriate PPE.
Weld components in various positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.
Examine welds for bead size, quality, and adherence to sanitary specifications.
Operate and maintain welding machinery and related equipment.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
Perform finishing work, including polishing and cleaning, to ensure sanitary standards are achieved.
May perform other duties as assigned to support the production team.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience:
3-5 years of experience welding and fabricating sanitary tubing and piping, with proficiency in TIG welding stainless steel.
Experience working in an ASME-certified environment is a plus.
Ability to fabricate custom sanitary piping layouts from blueprints.
Experience in using polishing and finishing techniques for stainless steel.
Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, steady hands, and a detail-oriented approach.
Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other relevant tools.
Understanding of sanitary welding standards and regulations.
