Job Summary

Responsible for processes related to curricular programs and courses within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS). Administratively supports academic units as they develop and revise degree programs and courses, ensuring college and university academic policies and procedures are being followed and that accurate documentation on programs is available to various stakeholders.


In this position, you will be working closely with faculty and academic advisors in the College of LAS.



Duties & Responsibilities


  • Lead college efforts and support departments in processes related to undergraduate and graduate course and degree program development. Work closely with the Associate Dean for Curricula and Academic Policy, LAS Courses & Curricula committee, LAS General Education committee, Office of the Provost, Senate Educational Policy Committee, and General Education Board to facilitate reviews and approvals of new and revised undergraduate and graduate degree programs, new courses/course modifications, and general education course and recertification proposals. Ensure that College and Campus academic policies and guidelines are being followed. Subject matter expert and primary College contact for CIM-C and CIM-P systems.
  • Organize program and policy related to LAS Courses & Curricula and General Education committees: draft and distribute meeting agendas, provide support to committee members, attend meetings, and communicate as needed with college and other campus units to obtain additional information.
  • Lead the regular college updates of the academic catalog and websites for curricular programs and assist departments in complying with college and campus standards.
  • Lead the college's CourseLeaf processes and reviews, such as special topics courses review, 6/10 violations reports, red box error reports, course fee reviews, and reviews of stale and stalled courses and programs.
  • Participate in campus committees related to academic programs and courses as requested by the Associate Dean for Curricula and Academic Policy.


Required Qualifications



Bachelor's degree.


A total of three (3) years in education, training, and/or work experience with course and/or curricular development, academic advising, and/or academic program support. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)



Preferred Qualifications



Degree in Liberal Arts.
Master's Degree.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience working with faculty and/or academic units on academic program development.

Appointment Information


This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. The budgeted salary range for the position is $70,000 to $80,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (remote work and in-person work in Champaign-Urbana each week).
