This Front-Line Obsession mindset will empower the team to reach operational and professional goals. Continuous Improvement/PWS Lead will be working in a cross functional environment to ensure Plant Optimization. The purpose of this position is to optimize plant output while reducing non-value added waste through leading and supporting initiatives created through the Perrigo Work System (PWS). The Process Engineer will be responsible for collecting data, performing analysis, developing countermeasures, implementing improvement projects and ensuring the desired outcome is sustained through machine health, operator planning and material work flow. This role also will be responsible for improvement based project execution, system installation and support (Redzone), and developing improvement based capital projects through business partnership. This role will support deploying the next phase of PWS across the Holland site, including but not limited to Operator Driven Reliability and other initiatives. Scope of the Role Work effectively with operations and support functions to translate process improvement findings into sustained improvement Activities include Support Work System Practices, technology solution liaison and ownership of shop floor tools, and training, and oversee balanced scorecard Understand and analyze top down cost and output improvements for Kaizen and lean efforts targeting non value-added activities Improvement activities will include but limited to Center-lining, CIL (clean, inspect, & lubricate), Process loss, Labor Utilization, and Machine Utilization Implement Lean Practices (7-steps) to improve cost and output deliverables impacting operator efficiency and machine capabilities Drive and influence change across multiple departments by implementing factory standards Strong 5S skillset Effectively lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously Identify new sources of data and methods of data collection, analysis and reporting Quantify the value of continuous improvement opportunities Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization Experience Required Required: Bachelor’s degree with preference to industrial engineering or related field. Previous experience working in an FDA regulated industry preferred. Lean manufacturing knowledge require and ability to implement lean manufacturing tools and methodologies Strong technical background including high volume and complex manufacturing environment Strong skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel (macro)) required Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to learn and understand complex equipment capabilities, operations/material flow, and data flow Ability to successfully manage multiple projects Preferred Minimum of 5+ years in industrial or process engineering strongly desired Six sigma black belt highly preferred.
