Ascent Resources is seeking a Corporate Accountant. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Corporate Accounting Supervisor. The Accountant I is primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of various journal entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly and quarterly close process and preparing, collecting and interpreting financial information, which includes cost analysis, performance metrics and various other reports for management. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare various journal entries
Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations
Reconcile all corporate bank accounts monthly
Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial close packages
Perform various duties in connection with the monthly, quarterly and annual close process
Perform accounting and operational analysis for internal and external reporting
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications
Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlines
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Able to work effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts
Able to effectively abide by company policies and procedures
Able to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Education & Work Experience RequiredMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Preferred:
CPA is preferred, but not required
0-2 years related work experience
