The Blast Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the shot blast machine to ensure quality parts are produced according to customer specifications and within a timely manner. This role involves equipment checks, material handling, and process documentation to ensure smooth operations and quality output.
Job Responsibilities
Perform daily checks on the shot blast machine to ensure it is operating correctly
Report any equipment issues or concerns to management and the maintenance team promptly
Record the heat number on the P/V according to the blast instructions
Ensure the operator name and the processing date are logged on the P/V, or sign and date the cutting instructions if applicable
Initiate the P/V on the computer system at the operator station before beginning the blast process

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not required
Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to read and interpret tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle production paperwork and system data
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and move heavy materials as required
Comfortable working in an environment with exposure to noise and dust
Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
