Job Description:

Position Summary

This position loads and unloads products in crates, boxes, or pallets, and is assigned to various stations or lines in the Load-out/Cooler areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Driving Company Performance

• Perform freights handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment (must be certified in Florida).
• Responsible for pulling /pushing products into small trucks for customer orders.
• Report to the Supervisor on any product/packaging issues.
• Ensure timely loading of customer orders, following the sequence assigned by the Supervisor.
• Keep accurate records on loading sheets, completing all required information and ensure everything is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
• Mark the paperwork properly when adjusting for product shortages.
• Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format.
• Ensure proper rotation of code dates during loads, following FEFO policy and considering any special customer requirements.
• Report to the Supervisor on any mechanical problems such as bad wear strips, plugged or missing lube nozzles, spacer stop malfunctions, palletizer malfunctions or conveyor breakdown.
• Responsible for the correct use of pallet jacks/Forklift, avoiding any damage caused by improper handling.
• Report to the Supervisor on any Pallet Jack/Forklift issues.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements.
• Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
• Report to the Supervisor on any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

	Required	Preferred
Work Experience	Minimum of 6 months current experience in a manufacturing environment	Experience in food and beverage industry
Education	High School diploma or Equivalent or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training. Stand-up Pallet Jack Certification Forklift Operator Certification
Technical Knowledge	Able to drive a forklift and pass a forklift driving skills test. Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork. Basic Math skills Follow and comply with all safety standards
Additional Skills/Notes	Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Dependability Adherence to safety requirements and wearing required PPE. Able to work in a team environment. Able to multi-task and be organized. Pass all pre-employment screens, including drug, background, and criminal checks.

This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is exposed to a wet and cold environment (temperatures are maintained at 35 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit). Employees may be exposed to allergens. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees are required to wear the required PPE provided by the company that is in compliance with OSHA regulations. Employees may experience swings in work-related demands of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand and/or sit, and drive, throughout the entire shift.

Employees must occasionally be able to lift up to 50 pounds including above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
