What you will be doing:
Develop and oversee environmental and occupational health and safety programs (OSHA, EPA, DOT, FMCSA, USDA/USDC/FDA, AIB, Homeland Security, etc.)
Conduct accident investigations and reporting.
Manage company safety program compliance, including audits, scorecards, PWMs, safety training, and driver training.
Coordinate medical interventions and track safety initiatives from a financial perspective.
Build strong relationships to foster a culture of openness, trust, and collaboration.
Improve safety policies and procedures to enhance workplace safety and efficiency.
What you must have:
High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred)
6+ years of occupational safety and health management experience
2+ years of experience as a Safety Manager or Safety Supervisor
Risk-based experience and incident investigation expertise
Distribution or transportation industry experience
OSHA and EPA Compliance experience
Fleet Safety/DOT Compliance experience
Experience with Smith System a plus
Certifications a plus (CSP, ARM, etc.)
Ability to travel within the local market
Active driver's license (CDL a big plus)
