Who we are looking for

"Head of Business Coverage" is a role that reports to Head of Enteprise Data within Chief Data Office. The role is responsible for driving data governance adoption activities across the business units, including understanding accountability, policy compliance, data quality issue tracking and resolution. This is a critical role that will ensure continuous adoption of data governance within enterprise and candidate will have a great opportunity to influence how data is governed, managed and leveraged in State Street.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Business Coverage for Chief Data Office you will

• Oversee adoption of Data Policy within enterprise


• Lead change management efforts related to data governance adoption, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing resistance


• Build and maintain relationships with data governance leads, data owners, stewards, and other stakeholders to ensure their support and collaboration


• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive the adoption of data governance practices


• Lead efforts to increase awareness of data governance principles and the importance of data quality, security, and compliance.


• Develop training programs, workshops, and communication plans to educate employees on data governance practices.


• Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organization.


• Build a system of accountability through monitoring and measuring adoption


• Partner with Business Data Governance leads to support Data Stewardship


• Continuously evaluate and improve data governance policy adoption for changing business and regulatory landscape


• Partner closely with GTS organization to improve Data Governance adoption for GTS only applications focusing on areas like AI/ML and Cyber.

• Understanding of regulations that have data and business touchpoints like BCBS 239, NYDFS AML, GDPR, CCPA, etc.

• Bachelors


• 10+ years of relevant experience role in data governance leadership

• Work experience in working with global team and stakeholders is a plus

Salary Range:
$135,000 - $210,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
