A Day in the Life

As the Associate Training/Education Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting the customer training and education area, supporting a team to conduct product workshops, consultative labs, and assist with medical education labs at the Lafayette, CO site. In this role, you will work in conjunction with the Meeting Services, Sales, Marketing, Medical Education and Research & Development teams for lab scheduling and event execution.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Assist under supervision to plan and coordinates product training programs for field support personnel and customers.

  • Obtain information needed to assist and preparing training programs; prepares training materials; coordinates the development of training aids.

  • Ensure training program(s) meets company and customer objectives.

  • Maintain communication with customers to ensure effectiveness of training.

  • May utilize trainers with technical expertise.

  • Conduct labs in a safe, secure, and clean environment, following regulatory requirements.

  • Interacts in a professional manner with participants in lab and social situations.

  • Maintain and demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge of current surgical procedures (Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Otology, Craniofacial, etc.), anatomy and physiology.

  • Assist and execute logistical set up, dismantling and cleaning of laboratory equipment.

  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels and equipment repairs.

  • Assist specimen ordering, recorded keeping and finial disposition of all material, including human anatomical material.

  • Answer technical questions regarding proper selection, care and maintenance of products.

  • Other non-routine duties as assigned by the Manager

  • Night and weekend work as required

  • Travel approximately 20%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 2+ years experience OR a Baccalaureate Degree).

  • Must be extremely well organized with strong attention to details.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$53,600.00 - $80,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
