Position Summary

The Senior Director of Donated Goods Operations will oversee the strategic and operational aspects of the donated goods program at GCCVA. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient collection, processing, and distribution of donated goods at all sites, while maximizing revenue and maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.

Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)

1. Develops and implements strategies to optimize the collection, processing, and distribution of donated goods.

2. Oversees daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.

3. Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

4. Develops and manages the budget for the donated goods operations, ensuring financial targets are met.

5. Ensures all donated goods meet quality standards and are processed in a timely manner.

6. Builds and maintains relationships with donors, community partners, and other stakeholders.

7. Ensures all operations comply with relevant regulations and organizational policies. Provides regular reports on operational performance, including key metrics and financial results.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor's degree in business preferred.

• 10 Years' experience in a related field required.

• No professional certifications are required for this position.

• Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.

• Associates in this position will be required to successfully pass both state and federal criminal background checks and sex offender check.

• Ability to operate PC, proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill Privacy policy 10.23 related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions

• The associate is required to lift 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Job requires walking or standing to a significant degree, with a degree of pushing and pulling.

• The associate works in a general office environment and is infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).

• Must be able to bend, stoop, stand and walk for 4-8 hours.• The associate is required to travel throughout the Goodwill service area.• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
