Job Description:
GDH is hiring a Technical Analyst III to work with our client, a large banking and financial provider. Primary function will be to write business and functional requirements for simple to complex projects (specifically data aggregation requirements as well as Reporting and Data Security Requirements). Analyzes, designs, plans, tests, and deploys complex systems software and programs; researches and defines problem functions involving existing systems and programs; develops and reviews input and output requirements and recommends appropriate design to meet those requirements; develops program specifications and flowcharts for use in coding and documenting the system's software programs; develops internal controls and ensures that programs work together properly.
Perform business process modeling (includes logical modeling, data retention, and business process modeling) for Simple to Complex projects. Reads and restarts simple job scheduling needs.
Perform job scheduling responsibilities including writing, reading, and troubleshooting job plans.
Develop simple to moderate batch scripts & stored procedures and provide technical requirements/specifications.
Employ IT governance policies, project architecture methodology and service oriented architecture (SOA) policies, and technology standards.
Construct SOA web services and employ architectural contracts.
Plan and execute simple to complex test scripts.
Develop simple Software Integration and data loads
Mentor other analysts by providing oversight of projects or day to day support efforts, helping other analysts define and align with goals, and providing feedback as necessary.
Duties may require "on-call" support during non-business hours.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Experience required:
Extensive Experience in Data Modeling and Database Design:
Proven track record of designing and modeling databases for large-scale data aggregation projects, particularly in the financial or risk management sector.
Strong Knowledge of Risk Management and Financial Reporting:
Deep understanding of risk data, including market, credit, and operational risk, and how this data is used in reporting and stress testing scenarios.
Experience with ETL Processes:
Hands-on experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, and tools for managing and integrating large volumes of data from multiple sources into a centralized database.
Proficiency in SQL and Database Technologies:
Advanced skills in SQL for querying and managing data, along with experience in working with various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
Experience in Regulatory and Compliance Requirements:
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank) and compliance requirements related to risk data aggregation and reporting.
Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality Management:
Experience in implementing data governance practices and ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across the database.
Understanding of Data Warehousing:
Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g. Databricks)
Experience in Requirements Gathering and Documentation:
Strong experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting technical and functional requirements for database projects, ensuring they align with business needs.
Familiarity with Risk Analytics and Stress Testing Tools:
Understanding of risk analytics and stress testing tools used in the financial industry, and how they interact with the underlying data infrastructure.
Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including IT, risk management, and business users.
