The MPD Center of Excellence (COE) oversees the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of MPD products, as well as global fulfillment of operational spare parts across the Weatherford organization. The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of the COE facility's operations, including directing, planning, scheduling, and executing activities with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Cost. This role involves managing both direct and support employees to meet operational demands and business needs.
The Plant Manager is accountable for achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives within set timeframes, ensuring compliance with the Company's global standards in manufacturing and Repair & Maintenance (R&M) processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or repair operations, with expertise in Lean Manufacturing, supply chain management, quality assurance, and inventory control.
The Plant Manager will report to the Senior Director of MPD COE and will manage a team of 6-8 direct reports, including dotted line functions in Lean, HSSE, and Quality.
Roles & Responsibilities
QUALITY
Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System
Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement
OPERATIONS
Lead cross-functional manufacturing teams to optimize manpower, materials, and equipment usage while supporting productivity and quality improvements. Ensure daily on-time delivery (OTD) is aligned with business needs.
Implement strategic plans for the facility's operations to consistently meet customer expectations.
Oversee, review, and authorize workload demands, spare parts forecasting, and R&M cost forecasting.
Supervise production planning and scheduling, authorizing necessary resources to meet OTD targets within budget constraints.
Develop and implement initiatives to improve productivity, cost management, and inventory control, ensuring optimal parts levels for OTD.
Ensure proper care and preventative maintenance of all workshop equipment to maximize productivity and minimize downtime, repair costs, and any delays to OTD.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Daily Management, Kaizen, Takt Time/Cycle Time analysis, Value Stream Mapping, Waste Elimination, Gemba Walks, and Visual Management to enhance plant performance.
Develop and implement processes and systems across teams to drive improvements in KPIs such as productivity, job cost variance, purchase price variance, expense reduction, OTD, and inventory management.
Support the adoption of new techniques, products, and equipment while optimizing staffing levels.
Collaborate with HSE to ensure compliance with safety, environmental standards, and company policies.
Oversee the financial performance of the plant, managing costs and adhering to budget allocations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the role.

FINANCIAL

Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
Effectively manage routine facility projects to include establishing operating budgets, cost justifications, quoting equipment and contractors, maintaining records, executing deliverables, meeting time and cost restraints
Oversee budget for operating costs and reviews and controls expenditures at the facility to ensure the facility's expenditures remain within annual budget expectations

REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, from an accredited university.
8-10+ years of experience managing operational plants related to manufacturing and/or service repair facilities.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in leading productivity improvements.
Proven understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
PREFERRED
MBA or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
Certifications such as APICS CPIM/CIRM, CSCP, Lean/Six Sigma, and/or PMP.
Strong understanding and experience in Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD)

Detailed understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning), with experience in JD Edwards and/or Oracle OTM being a plus.
Demonstrated experience in developing supply chains to improve operational performance, including On Time Delivery (OTD), lead time reduction, and cost management.
Experience with fully burdened plant models and their impact on operational performance.
