In general coordinates activities relating to defect reduction and prevention, improving the special knowledge detail, and understanding of standard work procedures and processes through Lean initiatives. Quality Specialists are also responsible for the following:



  • Monitors daily processes, material, and conducts audits of specified quality checks as defined by JSAs, OPLs, Work Instructions or Standard Work

  • Assists with addressing reported internal quality issues.

  • Leading stock purges and line checks of suspect material.

  • Gather, enter, and analyze process data to create reports to facilitate improvement.

  • Analyze and assist with problem solving, root cause analysis, and participate in the development and implementation of corrective action(s) with process owners.

  • Assist in the decision process to accept, rework, or reject any nonconforming material.

  • Assist in tracking and follow-up on any rejected order, discrepancy, or customer complaint.

  • Identify training needs and assist in the employee quality training process as appropriate.

  • Follow all new dies during pre-production runs to proactively identify and document issues before dies go into production. This includes product first article or mock-up inspections.

  • Perform any additional tasks identified to support the Quality/Continuous Improvement team.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following all policies and procedures.


Here’s What We’re Looking For



  • Must have basic process knowledge of metal processing, fabrication, and manufacturing operations.

  • Above average computer skills required. Experience in using Microsoft Office products preferred and proficient using Excel

  • Must have strong communication skills (written and oral)

  • Must have demonstrated commitment to working safely and supporting the facility safety efforts.

  • Must have the ability to work productively unsupervised and perform quality work.

  • Must have the ability to use standard hand measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, square, and protractor) and ability to learn to use other process specific measurement instruments required.

  • Must have experience related to reading die drawings and/or engineered drawings, tolerances, and specifications.

  • Must be a self-motivated individual that wants to learn the business and who will be dedicated to producing a quality product.

  • Must have the ability to follow instructions and work with a diverse group of individuals in a team environment.

  • Must have the ability to work hours that align with department work schedules as needed.


 Physical Requirements




  •  Must be able to constantly bend, squat, reach, lift, and push.

  • Ability to push/pull/lift/carry 10-50 lbs constantly, 51-75 lbs occasionally.

  • Stand and walk for an entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours.

  • Grasp, squeeze, hold/handle thin to thick metal, small & large items, small and large boxes.

  • Visual acuity to inspect product for various quality flaws and to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.

  • Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with the same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
