IT Support Specialist

Core4ce is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment alongside multiple contractors. The ideal candidate will provide advanced onsite technical support, resolve complex issues, and offer guidance to junior staff. Responsibilities include maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting escalated problems, and implementing security measures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support to end-users, addressing complex hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated IT problems in a timely manner.
  • Manage Active Directory groups and user accounts.
  • Mentor and guide junior support staff in resolving technical issues.
  • Maintain and oversee the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and workstations.
  • Implement and manage system upgrades, patches, and updates.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Assist in implementing IT security measures, including firewall configuration, antivirus deployment, and access controls.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures.
  • Provide end-user training on hardware and software systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures.
  • Create user-friendly guides for common technical issues.
  • Collaborate with IT management to evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions.
  • Lead or participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and track their lifecycles.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in IT support with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and software, including operating systems, networking, and security.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Active Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification (with CE).

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL v4, CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with Federal Government IT environments.
  • Knowledge of Military Medical Network Infrastructure.
