Central Fill Pharmacy Inventory Supervisor - responsible for management of Central Fill inventory assets including the reconciliation of MPA and SAP inventory systems, ensuring SOPs impacting inventory compliance metrics are met, managing the financial impacts of inventory adjustments and serving as a liaison to the customer purchasing / inventory department.
Responsible for all activities related to daily receiving/put-away, custom reporting employee development, quality, and safety. Ability to work seamlessly with Mckesson associates and on-site customer.



Key Responsibilities



Inventory/Asset Management


  • Ensure stock level, receiving, put-away, and DC return functions are executed in a manner that provides optimal accuracy, quality, and process efficiencies (e.g., velocity slotting, pill volume selection optimization, dead stock reports, daily put-away reconciliation, ROP calculations)

  • Manage daily reconciliation and inventory adjustment requirements and loss, damaged, expired analytics (i.e., 53210, 55070).

  • Oversee cycle count process, accuracy rates, and compliance inventory reporting

  • Manage in-stock service level exceeding contractual obligations

  • Manage physical and systematic inventory process

  • Maintain proper drug setup to optimize system throughput and efficiency



Process Management


  • Ensure inventory compliance and applicable regulatory controls in alignment with established SOPs and contractual obligations

  • Manage all pertinent financial policies, procedures and metrics related to CF inventory

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and serve as primary architect for process redesign Assist with operational issues, customer research, transportation and minor facilities issues

  • Manage all drug quarantines and recalls with comprehensive process to ensure compliance

  • Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as liaison between CF inventory operations, Buffalo DC inventory management, and customer purchasing department

  • Collaborate with Central Fill network to ensure best practices are shared between sites

  • Aggressively analyze vendor supply issues to proactively notify customer of potential problems and allow ample time for decision making

  • Support mail order, specialty, and Central Fill formulary addition / removal requests

  • Maintain customer service level and KPI's via a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports / scorecards supplied to management and the customer



Planning & Business Analytics


  • Provide ROP analysis, ordering strategy, DSI protocol, DCIM research approval, Inventory loss analytics strategy, finance collaboration for out of syncs, quarantine / recall process, retention file maintenance, emergency will call order processing, optimization slotting and overview of customer purchase programs

  • Collaborate with home DC, and transportation couriers to ensure contractual service levels are met



Staff Management


  • Manage and develop direct reports maintaining a bench position for this critical position always

  • Exemplify ILEAD, and ICARE principles always ensuring optimized employee engagement experience

  • Develop comprehensive performance objectives for quarterly objectives and reviews (team, and individual)

  • Gives work direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.

  • Ensure standards for efficiency, and productivity are being met / exceeded always

  • Complete pharmacy incident research including detailed root cause, and corrective action with acute sensitivity to the needs of the customer

  • Embrace the McKesson safety program behaviors to ensure a safety first working environment and culture




Minimum Requirement



Typically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities.



Education



2 or 4-year degree or equivalent experience



Critical Skills



  • Experience inspiring a team, leveraging strengths, executing a strategy, advancing a business, and developing self / others

  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong general computer proficiency required

  • Excellent and effective business communication skills both verbally and in writing

  • Skill at communicating insights and understanding of issues and problems

  • Predominantly first shift (8pm-4:40pm), but must be open to flexible hours and rotational Saturdays to support McKesson, the team, and our customer; must also be open to adjusting shift and overtime as needed based on business requirements.

  • Experienced in analyzing data and conditions in real time and adjusting as needed




Additional Knowledge & Skills



  • Preferred - distribution experience including 2+ years supervisory experience

  • 2+ years directly working with Inventory Management

  • Industry experience in pharmacy, distribution, automation, logistics, supply chain, warehouse, manufacturing or distribution environment preferred

  • Skilled in interviewing, coaching, evaluation, discipline and record keeping

  • Experience with pharmacy compliance, regulatory, FDA or ISO9000 regulations a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, past symptoms to root cause levels.

Our Base Pay Range for this position



$55,500 - $92,500
