Position Summary - Explain in 3-5 sentences the general purpose of the job
Under supervision of Manager or Sr. Engineer, the Engineering Technologist III develops detailed design drawings and related specifications of electro-mechanical equipment using CAD and PLM software.
Major Accountability - state 3-4 core areas of job responsibility
Use CAD software to create parts and assemblies from engineering sketches, specifications, and related data.
Create detailed drawings of models for use by manufacturing and outside suppliers.
Create wiring diagrams and harness drawings under direction of Engineer or CAD Manager
Document work using department change management processes.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Support product development and marketing with proposals, layouts, and spec sheet generation.
Provide support to manufacturing by documenting changes to existing design or creating new design using change management processes.
Create and maintain layouts in 3D CAD software for use with model based configuration.
Prototype parts to verify fit, form, & function of new designs on equipment.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge & Abilities - Include Certifications, Licenses, software and/or equipment used to perform the job
Profiecent computer skills including Microsoft Office experience and excellent communication skills - required
Career experience with any 3D CAD software such as Creo-Pro/E or Solidworks - required
Understanding of prototyping techniques and ability to evaluate supplier capabilities - required
Understanding of common fabrication and assembly techniques and manufacturing - required
Experience with engineering change management processes - required
