Position Summary:
Seeking dedicated people with the desire to learn and build a career while exceeding the highest quality and safety standards. This position is responsible This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of an end-dump truck with a tarping-system. Drivers will haul waste from transfer stations to company-owned landfills.
Duties and Responsibilities :
• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of operating a commercial motor vehicle and related equipment to be operated. • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment. • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently. • Must keep time and material records. • Must follow verbal and written instructions. • Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates, asphalt, or other material. • Must have maneuvering and backing skills. • Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process. • Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system. • Must maintain driver's daily logs. • Connect and disconnect trailers. • Be aware of other equipment and personnel working in the area. • Possess the ability to follow instructions with strong oral and written skills. • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, customers and supervisors. • Report to assigned job area in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time. • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in policies and procedures manual, and OSHA/MSHA guidelines. • Ability to clearly think no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances. • Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. • Ability to comprehend and communicate specific directions to ensure the safety of all. • Desire to learn and commitment to working safely. • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late, when necessary, with little or no notice. • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A with appropriate endorsements.
