We are hiring for an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in New York, NY .
Primary Responsibilities:
Contribute to hygiene projects associated with asbestos, lead-based paint [LBP], mold, and indoor air quality [IAQ].
Perform oversight of asbestos abatement projects; this includes environmental building surveys and report writing.
Prepare reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control / correction of hazards.
Work independently on assigned projects in NYC and the surrounding areas; these projects occasional require working during evenings and/or weekends, when necessary.
Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
6+ years of professional experience working with EHS-related tasks (preferably with Industrial Hygiene and/or Environmental Remediation).
Accredited Asbestos credential(s) in NY (i.e.: NYS Asbestos Building Inspector and/or Asbestos Air Sampling Technician / Project Monitor; NYC Asbestos Investigator certification is strongly preferred).
This person may be expected to work in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree (or higher) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, or a related field is a plus!
Additional credential (e.g.: EPA Lead Risk Assessor, NYS Mold Assessor, etc.) is a plus!
Proven expertise with OSHA regulations, especially with air sampling methodologies.
Experience working in construction.
Proficiency with basic computer systems and software; this person will be expected to use MS-Office (e.g.: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment while demonstrating strong character and dependability.
Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
