The Manager, IT Operations is responsible for leadership of the company's IT Operations functions. The role will include oversight of the daily up-keep and administration of the company's IT systems, and cloud related infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring that our IT systems meet performance and availability objectives. The incumbent is accountable for all incidents, problems and changes for their area of responsibility.
The incumbent will work closely with subject matter experts from technical and business teams to ensure alignment of service level objectives and produce actionable, data driven metrics to inform decisions and continual improvement opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the IT department and ensure that systems are performing optimaly
Proactively manage capacity and performance planning, monitoring and reporting
Lead a team of IT professionals and partners, providing guidance and support to ensure individuals meet their goals and objectives
Raise awareness to potential systemic issues
Maintain a strong understanding of the organization's business needs and work closely with other departments to ensure that IT is aligned with those needs
Participate in Service Level Objective definition with key stakeholders
Produce actionable reports aligned to service level objectives
Leverage data to recommend improvements and provide inputs for future roadmaps
Manage technology vendors and service providers to ensure that the organization's technology needs are met
Develop and implement procedures and processes to improve IT Operations and increase efficiency
Effectively communicate and interact with key stakeholders
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in IT Operations or similar
2+ years of experience managing direct reports, including staff management, mentoring, conducting performance reviews, managing team tasks, work schedules, and creation of development plans
Experience managing remote employees, consultants, and vendors
Prior experience working in an effective SOX/internal control environment
Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Experience with ITIL or comparable framework and processes
Insurance industry experience is preferred but not required

Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to clearly articulate recommendations often to those without a technical acumen

Positive team-oriented focus with the ability to communicate IT goals and vision throughout organization in a clear and compelling manner

Regular and punctual attendance
Understanding and agreement of job requirement which may require after hours work/support and weekend work
Ability to travel up to 10%
