Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Expert Software Architect our NYS Office for Mental Health Team located in Albany, NY.



Key Responsibilities:



Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:


  • Develop technical architecture for the EHR Interface Analysis and Application Modification and other OMH projects.

  • Participate in business analysis and systems development lifecycle.

  • Use Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 or higher and write code using MVC Architecture, .Net, JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, XML, Web APIs and WCF.

  • Prepare scripts to create and modify existing Oracle tables, create indexes, constraints, triggers, views, etc., code stored procedures and packages, convert and migrate data when necessary.

  • Data manipulation, including manipulation of Protected Health Information data.

  • Mentor and assist other programmers, both state and consultant, providing guidance for debugging, troubleshooting, securing and deploying applications, data access, data communications and system architecture configurations.

  • Use a source code repository TFS/GitLab for checking source code in and out, branching off new versions of the source code.

  • Diagnose and debug production issues reported via ITSM. Escalate critical calls as necessary and join bridge calls to assist in diagnosis.

  • Code applications that access Protected Health Information.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot various rules, calculations, and data issues on application reports using Crystal Reports.




Experience Required:



84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.




  • 84 months experience eliciting/extracting detailed business requirements from customer/project stakeholders or system artifacts.

  • 84 months experience developing/maintaining test plans and detailed test cases, executing those tests, validating test results, and logging/tracking related defects.

  • 24 months experience with systems related to criminal justice processing (including but not limited to: disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history updating, Sex Offender management, tracking of Wanted/Missing persons, or initiatives related to Offender Supervision.

  • 24 months experience using HP Quality Center/ALM

  • 48 months experience writing and tuning SQL scripts.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At Voyatek, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range is $65.00 and $75.00
