BGIS is currently seeking aLead Commercial HVAC Installer to join the team Pensacola, FL.

The Commercial Lead HVAC Installer is responsible for installing heating, air conditioning, and other equipment following manufacture specifications, safety procedures and company requirements. The position interfaces directly with clients and provides excellence and efficiency in completing commercial installations. The Commercial Lead HVAC Installer demonstrates BGIS values and ensures all work is completed in safe manner with focus on health and environment requirements

3&3 Tech Flex Program


After your start date, you will be provided with the 3&3 Tech Flex Program plan document which provides specific details of this award program. In summary, eligible positions can participate in an exciting retention program that gives you choices each year: $3,500 Cash Bonus; 40 Extra Hours of Floating Holidays; $3,500 in Technical Training. For team members who become eligible mid-plan year, you will be placed in the Cash Bonus option for that year and the award will be pro-rated. Complete plan details will be provided after your start date and the plan document will govern the program.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



Client Service Focus
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with people leaders and other team members.
  • Complete assigned installation work and communicate in a professional manner with customers, positively representing BGIS.
  • Follow up on required BGIS, customer, and safety training for the team members completing the installation work.
  • Deliver consistent excellent customer service that ensures high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer concerns or escalate to appropriate subject matter expert for follow up.
  • Ensure team arrives to jobsites at scheduled time.
  • Monitor work activities for timely and quality completion.
  • Support the on-going review and improvement of work procedures.
  • Provide support to other team members to complete tasks on time as directed by the People Leader.
  • Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives assigned.

HVAC Installation

  • Install HVAC equipment in customer commercial buildings including RTUs, WSHP, Chillers, MAUs, FAUs, furnace, air handles, indoor coils, UV lights, air cleaners, dehumidifiers, outdoor coils, and outdoor unites working with minimum direct supervision while providing direction to less experienced installers.
  • Follow company policies and manufacture specifications ensuring all work is completed with safety, health, and environment in mind.
  • Design, fabricate, and install a wide range of duct fittings and or duct transitions.
  • Complete wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment.
  • Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering.
  • Install flex duct systems in commercial buildings.
  • Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly complete following all safety protocols.
  • Interpret readings on machines with the full understanding of the implication of such readings.
  • Carry out start-up on air conditioning systems as required.
  • Complete work in accordance to established processes and practices utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure work is performed is in compliant with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.
  • Offer knowledge, training, and guidance to HVAC installers to help them develop the essential skills needed for effective HVAC installation
  • Completes all required paperwork in a timely, accurately, neatly, and thorough manner.
  • Submit all expenditures on a timely basis.
  • Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirm, and load items into company vehicle.
  • Ensure assigned company vehicle is kept clean.
  • Adhere to standard processes and procedures including properly stocking of company vehicles with necessary parts, returning unused and defective parts to the warehouse, and ordering/restocking parts in vehicles as required

Knowledge and Skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of HVAC installation experience.
  • Strong ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity and dependability as a team member.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to display professional company image.
  • EPA Certification. (universal license?)
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience with industry software preferred. (Ex iPad and iPhone use)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Cognitive skills required to work in a safety sensitive environment including ability to maintain focus, communicate clearly and concisely, respond quickly to requests, follow established processes and ability to complete tasks withing targeted time frame to minimize risk of outages or damage to residences and high value equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work overtime/weekends based on business needs.
  • Knowledgeable of ladder safety and ability to climb and descend multiple times within a work shift while carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to maneuver in confined spaces i.e. crawlspaces, attics, etc.
  • Strong ability to operate under severe temperature conditions for long periods of time.
  • Consistently wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on job duties.
  • Current valid driver's license with clean driving record.
