Job Summary

NetApp is looking for a Product Manager to join the product management team, who has successfully managed storage products in larger enterprise companies. He/she has a track record of working in highly effective product management teams and working collaboratively with global R&D.


This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Product Management, he/she will work closely with the company Product leadership teams, Sales, TME, Procurement, Marketing and Support teams to execute a compelling product strategy.


The ideal candidate for this role has a background in building and scaling product(s), strong technical hardware and business acumen, and vision to deliver successful products that enable enterprise and commercial customers to meet their most challenging business and infrastructure demands in today's rapidly evolving technology landscape. Manages strategic and business decisions related to product or product group creation, development, positioning and marketing.

Job Responsibilities


  • Gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through market and customer research, competitive and product research involving customer visits, advisory councils, industry events, analyst relationships, etc

  • Execute product vision, direction, and business plans, including product plans/roadmaps, product evolution and product lifecycle process

  • Collaborate with R&D to translate market requirements into innovative new technology and with support to deliver solutions that have fast time-to-value and accelerate time-to-revenue

  • Manage pricing and work with supply chain and procurement and vendor partners to improve margins and/or reduce costs

  • Work with OEM and ISV partners to expand storage business to new market segments and industries

  • Contract negotiation experience especially around reseller and OEM contract negotiations

  • Work on the technical issues reported by customers on the new/deployed product

  • Experience in server, networking and storage technology related experience for data centers, on-premises and understanding of storage technologies such as FCP, iSCSI, NVMe over Fibre Channel, NVMeOF over TCP/RoCE, Internet Wide-area RDMA Protocol (iWARP) for Ethernet and InfiniBand, SATA, SAS, RAID topology and experience with storage area network design

Job Requirements


  • 10+ years in product management

  • Experience in storage hardware and software product management

  • Experience with data protection architectures for SAN and block environments

  • Strong analytical and logical skills

  • Experience working with teams across geographies and business units.

  • P&L management experience

  • Experience with AI model training, high performance computing, parallel file systems and media and entertainment solutions

  • Experience with JIRA

  • Deep knowledge around CPUs, GPUs and DPUs and PCIe, NVMe and SSDs

  • Ability to build and/or use tools/models for BOM, Sizing, Pricing, etc purposes

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is 178,000 USD-230,000 USD and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
