Job Description:
Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Vice President of Space and Defense Services to lead and grow our portfolio of Space and Defense programs. The Vice President of Space and Defense Services reports directly to the company president.
Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a diverse technical background, with substantial and successful project and program management experience, with a strong working knowledge of NASA, the US Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC), and/or the USAF AFRL and will have prior work experience with one or more of these organizations. The successful candidate will possess the abilities to independently pursue new business opportunities with current and new customers. The candidate will reside in (or relocate to) Houston TX. Responsibilities include:
Deliver outstanding execution performance on Space & Defense Services portfolio of programs.
Meet annual revenue, operating income, and operating income as a percent of cost objectives. Manage to direct & indirect budgets.
Develop and maintain Program and Project Management processes, procedures and work instructions. Guide, mentor and develop Program Managers.
Develop organizational and Program Manager goals & objectives. Monitor progress and evaluate performance against them.
Develop strong working relationship with corporate shared services elements to deliver excellent support to programs.
Grow existing portfolio of programs (organic growth). Secure available option periods, extensions and recompetes of current programs.
Identify, secure and execute new business with the support of program staff, the business development team and shared services organizations.
Develop and maintain outstanding business relationships with our customers and suppliers in Aegis Aerospace's strategic marketplace.
Build a connection with our employees through employee engagement and regular communication.
Prepare management reports, and support management reviews.

As the corporate oversight manager for direct work, you will be responsible for performance management, effective customer engagement, leadership development / succession planning, and for providing Aegis Aerospace capabilities input to our business development efforts. You will also be responsible for promoting a highly collaborative, integrated environment between our program teams and our corporate functions (e.g. Contracts, Procurement, Pricing & Project Controls, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Recruiting, Information Systems, Security, and Business Development) to ensure predictable program execution of current contracts coupled with meeting growth objectives.
