Job Description Summary

The Operational Excellence BDPS Site Lead leads and collaborates with BU and site OPEX leaders on developing strategies that drive a CI culture. Through the development and implementation of a standardized lean manufacturing system, best in class processes and methodologies, in support of exceeding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance across the manufacturing organization. Accountable for the successful implementation of a Standard BDPS and implementation of best practice Cost to Win methodologies in the pursuit of manufacturing excellence and optimal customer experience.

Responsibilities:



  • Deployment leader for global strategies that drive a CI culture. Ensure network alignment by; leading the planning and execution process, writing the strategic planning A3 and developing consensus, tracking progress and making "hot spots" visible, building required management systems. Practice and teach PDCA.

  • Develop and maintain capability to support deployment of global OPEX strategies, locally as required, e.g. execute on the BD Operational Excellence initiatives.

  • Benchmark, develop and deploy network and industry wide best practice programs that will drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cost, using multiple methodologies (Kaizen & Lean methodologies; Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Process Optimization, Problem solving etc..).

  • Collaborate with Business and Plant leadership, to ensure CI / CTW programs/projects deliver on expectations. Identify gaps and develop plans to mitigate potential risks. Ensure alignment with corporate & business expectations on continuous improvement targets.

  • Lead a continuous ongoing learning environment to develop capability for effective strategy deployment and to ensure CI training and development programs in the principles, techniques and methodologies of Continuous Improvement.

  • Oversee and lead the Strategic direction and deployment of lean manufacturing methodologies across the BD Global Operations network.

  • Demonstrate improvement in the effective use of manufacturing technology resulting in efficiency improvement (i.e. Six Sigma process capability, improved OEE's), reduced cost of manufacturing, and identification, sharing, and cross business adoption of applicable methodologies and best practice.






Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience required. Black belt certification preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience; at least 5 years of people management experience required, preferably in both direct and indirect leadership roles.

  • At least 4 years of manufacturing or supply chain or continuous improvement experience.

  • Able to function as a senior leader, influencing at all levels of the organization, ensuring collaboration across all OPEX functions and Manufacturing locations within BD.

  • Strong business acumen, prior experience in a large-distributed workforce with a matrix organization.

  • Facilitation & change management leadership skills/experience.

  • Excellent planning, organization, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Influences and motivates teams. Proven track record of delivering tangible results.

  • Practitioner in lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Project management expertise required.
