Your Role:



The Strategic Marketing Manager, Viral Vectors is responsible for planning and executing the business and marketing vision for the Viral Vectors Modality within the Life Science Services CDMO Business.


You collaborate cross functionally to develop the offer, its value proposition, its positioning, and the corresponding go-to-market strategy, including the ownership of content development to support marketing and sales efforts. The Strategic Marketing Manager will be guided by the Head of Viral Vectors & Biologics Modality and partner closely with the broader marketing team and other Viral Vectors Modality team members. You will be a driver of our vision to help biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies take their assets from early clinical stage to the market as quickly as possible.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead business initiatives, collaborating with partners to support the Modality Head in achieving marketing execution and realizing financial performance for the service portfolio.

  • Identify global market analysis needs and conduct assessments with the Strategy team to uncover growth opportunities and threats, including customer and competitor insights.

  • Monitor industry trends and propose measures to enhance competitiveness and drive business expansion, including investment projects.

  • Develop a comprehensive go-to-market strategy aligned with business objectives, collaborating with MarCom and Commercial teams to create effective campaigns and content.

  • Oversee marketing campaigns across channels, establish relevant KPIs, evaluate performance, and implement tactical improvements.

  • Collaborate with MarCom, Field Marketing, and technical teams to produce impactful marketing materials and thought leadership content that boosts awareness and generates leads.

  • Advise on customer selection and pricing strategies to guide commercial efforts for the service portfolio.

  • Co-drive innovation with R&D and PAD teams, supporting business cases and aligning on an innovation roadmap.

  • Partner with PAD and manufacturing sites to implement innovations, gather customer feedback, and identify growth opportunities.

  • Foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, external partners, and key opinion leaders.


Location: US Based, Remote, West Coast preferred



Travel: < 20% International/Domestic



Who You Are




Minimum Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, chemistry, business, engineering, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in marketing, sales, product management, and/or product development in the life science or pharmaceutical industry

  • Understanding of the pre-clinical-to-commercial development process for pharmaceuticals and industry trends in the specific modality field

  • Strong presentation, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and effectively collaborate across functions and geographies

  • Experience using collaborative productivity tools including MS Teams and the Microsoft 365 suite

  • Fluency in English


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Higher degree in life sciences, chemistry, business, or engineering (Masters / Ph.D.)

  • Experience working for a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO)

  • Experience developing go-to-market strategies, value propositions, marketing plans, and content

  • Experience assessing customer needs, market needs, capability gaps, and competitor capabilities
