A Day in the Life

We are excited to announce a dynamic opportunity on the Surgical Commercial Marketing team for a Senior Marketing Program Manager. In this high-visibility, pivotal role, you will drive significant impact across our business. Leverage your expertise in program management and new product development operations to help Medtronic's Surgical Operating Unit achieve its strategic goals of driving innovation and enhancing efficiency in our launch processes.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, confident leader with the ability to collaborate across functions to execute marketing initiatives. This role involves collaborating to drive standardization and automation of marketing tools within the product development process and ensuring seamless coordination between the Program Management Operations (PMO), global, and region product marketing teams. We seek someone who holds themselves accountable for delivering results the right way and with speed and decisiveness.

This position reports to the Director of Surgical Commercial Marketing and could be located anywhere within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive ownership of the Marketing Review Committee (MRC) operating mechanism evolving the forum acting as a link to PMO to ensure program review committee (PRC) alignment

  • Outline mechanisms to define and implement design control for marketing requirements in the new product development (NPD) process

  • Standardize and automate tools for marketing core team members in the product development process

  • Execute the business planning alignment for global and regional marketing coordinating annual objectives

  • Assess existing alignment mechanisms at the business to regional level to determine where global efficiencies can occur

  • Recommend approaches to define global activities prioritization from strategic to tactical execution

  • Ensure NPD decisions and risks are documented between global and region marketers once commitments

  • Validate Enrich and Anaplan commitments are aligned with launch and commercialization goals

Travel approximately 20%

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience or Advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA

  • Strategic marketing experience

  • Leadership of projects/programs which span beyond the scope of the Operating Unit requiring extensive cross-business unit collaboration.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Takes initiative to appropriately escalate and resolve potential issues by calling them to the attention of the Marketing leadership and identifies potential solutions.

  • Experience working in highly matrixed and complex environments

  • Medical device industry experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$152,800.00 - $229,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
