As the Production Engineer, you will be key to securing the required level of Production and Engineering support for the Contherm scraped surface heat exchanger product line.



BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION (outline job duties and responsibilities):



ALPS/LSS (Alfa Laval Production System/Lean Six-Sigma) Driver


  • Act as right hand to Production Manager with backup responsibilities related to production scheduling.

  • Act as the local communication link between the factory/site and the ALPS Central Team (ALPS CET).

  • Support ALPS on-site communication.

  • Actively support and challenge the daily running of ALPS in the factory/site.

  • Network with other local ALPS Drivers from other Alfa Laval factories.

  • Actively seek and communicate possible best practice solutions both locally and globally.

  • Coordinate and support planning, preparation and certification process of ALPS Installation for the factory/site.

  • Participate in local and PG/regional ALPS Steering Committee.

  • Ensure that the factory/site ALPS Scorecard is reported on time and according to standard.

  • Ensure that all ALPS related material used in the factory/site is up to date and standard.

  • Run local ALPS Basic training and support ALPS CET in execution of locally run Central ALPS Basic training.

  • Perform audits according to ALPS (SB Audit Dialogues, SOP Audit Dialogues (Improvement), 5S Audits).

  • Implement Kaizen events for continuous improvement in how we work.

  • Participate in ALPS Core Teams.

  • Submit initiatives/suggestions on improvements to ALPS standards to ALPS CET.




Key Production & Engineering Support Responsibilities:


  • Support material compliance program.
    • Develop new processes that will streamline the communication of material compliance requirements to suppliers.

    • Assist in organizing and managing the testing of materials to the desired standards.

  • Perform quality control inspections of returned materials and provide overall backup support to Quality Control Manager.

  • Produce technical drawing and text content for documentation including manuals or sales literature.

  • Support material and pressure vessel compliance initiatives.

  • Other general support functions as needed to support Production.




EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION DESIRED



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Chemical)





Type and Length of Experience:


  • 2-5 years of relevant experience from production/manufacturing company.

  • Strong PC Skills, including Microsoft Office Systems

  • AutoCAD / Inventor experience desired

  • Manufacturing and/or production planning experience being a required skillset.

  • Be competent in Lean Six Sigma (minimum on Green Belt level)

  • Be a result driven person who thrives on solving problems.

  • Be honest, open and an assertive facilitator and communicator.

  • Have high integrity and strategic perspective.

  • Have the ability to drive implementation through and together with line management.
