Job Description:

The Vice President of Sales and Commercial Operations, reporting directly to the CEO, plays a pivotal role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the commercial organization. This executive role is essential to driving our growth strategy within the infrastructure sector, including transportation, construction, utilities, water, and municipalities. This key position is responsible for implementing and overseeing the Customer Experience (including Customer Service), Sales and Sales Processes (including Inside Sales), Product Engineering (including Product Design, R&D, and Product Management), Marketing, and strategies to drive revenue and growth.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy focused on growing the infrastructure segment across the U.S.

  • Identify and prioritize key markets and opportunities within the infrastructure industry, including bridges, roads, railways, utilities, and large-scale construction projects.

  • Identify new market opportunities and define the sales approach to penetrate these markets effectively.

  • Set sales targets, forecast revenue, and create action plans to meet or exceed goals.

  • Lead efforts to expand the company's presence in existing markets and enter new ones.

  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and engineering firms.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities to inform business development strategies.

  • Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and partners.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing needs, resolving issues, and delivering on commitments

  • Curate an awesome customer experience using culture, process, and technology (e.g., CRM, CPQ, and others)

  • Lead Customer Success, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure customer feedback is integrated into service offerings and product enhancements.

  • Provide insights and recommendations for product development based on market demand, customer feedback, and industry research.

  • Champion initiatives that drive customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term loyalty.

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales team across multiple regions.

  • Develop inside sales and customer service teams that support and enhance the impact of the outside sales team.

  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the sales organization.

  • Work closely with the operations, engineering, and product development teams to ensure alignment between sales strategies and operational capabilities.

  • Provide market feedback to inform product development and innovation efforts.

  • Direct and supervise marketing to develop and execute targeted campaigns and promotional activities.

  • Evaluate each region for specific targets, markets, products, and technical expertise, and provide a plan to address gaps or capitalize on opportunities.

  • Manage the sales budget, including travel, marketing, and personnel expenses.

  • Monitor financial performance, analyze sales data, and report on key metrics to the executive team.

  • Implement cost-effective strategies to maximize profitability and drive growth.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in all sales activities.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to sales contracts, customer agreements, and market conditions.

  • Effectively engage and collaborate with Finance, Legal and HR teams.

Education and Experience Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field

  • Proven experience in sales operations with a track record of enhancing sales performance.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Experience with CRM systems and sales technology

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Physical Requirements


Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.


The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the Company's operations.  


Travel Requirements


Up to 75% travel is anticipated with this position.
