Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.



The Role



We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer Intern for our Forensics Practice with interests in structural investigations of existing buildings, engineering analysis, and preparation of evaluation reports. The investigations include failure, origin and cause analysis, loss insurance claims, and litigation support.



Responsibilities



  • On-site inspections and investigations including surveying and documenting observations, photographing, and sketching.


  • Researching the historical background of diverse structures, technical issues, and code issues.


  • Organizing field data to facilitate analysis and problem-solving.


  • Completing structural analysis and repair rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.







Requirements



  • Undergraduate or graduate student with a concentration in engineering or architecture.


  • Excellent academic record.


  • Experience in Revit, Tekla, and AutoCAD is helpful but not required.


  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US.
