About the Firm:



Our client, a prominent law firm in downtown San Diego, is seeking a meticulous and efficient Legal Word Processor with a focus on transactional and real estate law. This role is integral to ensuring that legal documents are accurate, polished, and professionally presented.


Position: Legal Word Processor
Location: Downtown San Diego
Salary: $65,000-90,000 based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time - 37.5-hour workweek, onsite



Key Responsibilities:



  • Document Preparation: Accurately format, edit, and finalize a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and real estate transaction documents.

  • Redlining: Proficiently manage redlining tasks, including sending, pulling links, and making necessary revisions.

  • Editing and Proofreading: Ensure all documents are free from typographical errors, grammatical mistakes, and formatting inconsistencies.

  • Template Management: Maintain and update document templates to ensure consistency and compliance with firm standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to ensure documents meet required specifications and deadlines.

  • File Management: Organize and manage electronic and paper files, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with firm policies.

  • Software Proficiency: Utilize iManage or similar document management systems, Litera, and Microsoft 365 Suite.




Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a word processor with a focus on transactional and/or real estate law.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in iManage or similar systems, Litera, and Microsoft 365 Suite.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Proactivity: Ability to take initiative and understand the next steps in the real estate process, such as revisions and opening matters.
