The School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics seeks an adjunct faculty member to serve as ful time clinical coordinator for the Radiation Therapy Program for the fall 2024 semester to monitor and assist our clinical partners in delivering high quality learning experiences and education for students.  The selected candidate will have responsibilities of classroom teaching along with visiting, monitoring, and assessing radiation therapy undergraduate students on their clinical experience at our clinical affiliates. 



  • Deliver didactic and/or experiential instruction in the radiation therapy program, at a partner facility, as designated by the program director

  • Assign students to clinical sites, ensure students comply with the requirements for on boarding for their assigned site

  • Perform clinical site visits and evaluation of students in the clinical setting

  • Assist to on-board students for their clinical rotations making sure they comply with the University’s and clinical institutions’ requirements

  • Forward questions/concerns to the Program Director / Dean as necessary

  • Email student steps for vaccinations/background check

  • Submit background check iCORI form to schools CORI official

  • Evaluate and assess students on their performance in clinical giving regular feedback and entering grades first into the LMS and then final grades in the School’s Self Service system

  • Demonstrate a professional example to students

  • Monitor student activities and clinical time in the schools Clincial system Trajecsys®

  • Provide meaningful feedback to students regarding their attainment of knowledge and demonstration of procedures learned

  • Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria

  • Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered

  • Support incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities

  • Use the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students

  • Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms

  • Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment

  • Arrange and facilitate student observation/participation in various radiation therapy experience

  • Evaluate students for competency as defined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

Requirements


Required:



  • Bachelor degree in radiation therapy

  • Certification in radiation therapy through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a radiation therapist

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the clinical setting

  • Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success

  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to travel to clinical sites – access to a car is preferred

  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)

  • Experience with Blackboard® Learning Management System
