Business Controlling Manager

Position Summary

Thales is looking for an IFE (In-Flight Entertainment) Business Controlling Manager with a solid communication, technology and analytical skills. You will be a reliable Finance Business Partner for Engineering, Operations, Support Functions and the BL Leads, actively partnering with Procurement, Supply chain, Logistics, Production delivering world class end to end finance support to Industrial Excellence, competitiveness and efficiency.

In this position, you will be linked to a permanently changing and challenging activity portfolio (Product lifecycle, product mix, Product development), from Internal costs optimization in the THALES Matrix to Procurement, the Business Controller objective is to boost efforts for Internal & External competitiveness on IFE products anticipating any challenge, strategic path towards more profitable activity.

Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Business Control: Lead the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts; Develop financial models and analyses to support business decisions and strategic initiatives; Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Operations competitiveness: Challenges & optimize Internal production work-in Progress, work orders; Analyses and take all necessary actions to mitigate Production Variances; Responsible for product costing & product lifecycle financials absorption; Standard costs calculation; Third Party inventory reconciliation.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting in the Matrix THALES for Engineering, Operations, CHP & Support: Develop and manage annual budgets, including departmental and project budgets; Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support long-term strategic planning; Analyze budget variances and provide actionable recommendations to management.

  • Financial Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting; Monitor compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations; Identify and address any financial or operational risks.

  • People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback; Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and support career development for team members; Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team; Manage team workloads and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights and support business strategies; Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and business expansion plans; Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations; Leverage technology and data analytics to streamline financial reporting and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management, preferably with at least 2 years in a managerial role; SAP expert (FI, CO, MM, WM, SD), SAP mandatory (or equivalent ERP & management reporting system).

  • Project Management Skills: Experience managing financial projects or initiatives, including budget planning, resource allocation, and timeline management; Strategic and Operational Acumen: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial guidance and support business growth initiatives; Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices in financial management.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to various stakeholders; Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced analytical skills with a strong ability to interpret financial data and make data-driven decisions; Experience in identifying financial trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics); Strong knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); Experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.

What We Offer

The anticipated TTC range for this role is 106,545.81 - $209,267.60 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
