DE, Cross Platform Memory Subsystem Architecture - Permanant - Morrisville, NC - $200,000 - $250,000


The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a DE, Cross Platform Memory Subsystem Architecture in Morrisville, NC.

• Drive common portfolio level memory subsystem architecture and provide deep expertise on board designs, layouts, materials, and components for ISG server products
• Work hands on with ISG's Quality Team to ensure the highest degree of memory subsystem reliability for current and future products that meet the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Review and approve system design specifications (system and subsystem architects)
• Review system designs with customers and partners to establish an "outside-in" view
• Works with a team of other distinguished experts in firmware, I/O, power, thermal, etc to inform the CTO office and conduct research and lead proof of concepts for future memory technologies.


Skills & Requirements


• BS in engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years' experience with hands-on hardware development and 5 years in architecture leadership role.
• Experience with DDR4/5, including participation in JEDEC and future memory technologies.
• Strong preference for knowledge and experience with statistical analysis of DIMM failure rates across the spectrum of various DIMM failure modes.
• Deep understanding of Error correction algorithms and memory controller design at the RTL level.

Experience with alternate memory interconnects and architectures such as CXL, Memory centric compute, memory tiering, advanced caching enablement.
• Experience innovating and working with software and firmware enablement of advanced memory RAS, Pre-failure Monitoring, ACPI, NUMA awareness and optimization approaches.
• Working knowledge and understanding of memory centric customer workloads such as in memory databases (SAP, etc.) and benchmarking.
• Knowledge and experience with memory topologies ranging from single socket servers up to 8 socket servers is a must.
• Proven track record of business impacting technical innovation with rich patent portfolio to show.
• Rich experience in leading world-wide teams across multiple geographies and cultures, with an emphasis on coaching team and development of future technical leaders
• Well recognized as industry expert with history of impactful industry contributions
• Expert in Cadence Allegro PCB design software
• Experience creating schematics and reference designs
• Ability to think broadly, to assess and clearly communicate design tradeoffs, including cost, performance, quality, serviceability and customer experience.
• Ability to work as agile, creative thinker with a strong understanding of both business and technical aspects of systems design
• Demonstrated success in collaborating and providing cross-functional leadership and build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Self-starter that can operate with a high degree of autonomy with an ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a complex, high growth environment
• Utmost levels of integrity and professionalism
• Broad knowledge of system design, including Power, Thermal and Mechanical
• Executive presence: comfortable making executive-level presentations, navigate complex and complicated situations, and able to positively influence multiple stakeholders
• Strong communication skills & ability to represent the company with employees, partners, customers, etc.
