As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our platform's efficiency by understanding customer needs and collaborating with cross-functional teams to devise and implement robust testing scenarios. Your mission is to ensure the seamless functionality of our software through rigorous system testing and continuous enhancement of our testing standards and automation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to enhance automation capabilities for testing the core platform.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to create and execute test cases within an Agile/Scrum framework.
Develop comprehensive test plans in conjunction with BAs and Software Development Engineers, and review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
Improve the test automation framework for our expanding suite of APIs and UIs.
Contribute to our BDD framework, facilitating task execution and test data generation via Jira or Gherkin feature files.
Log bugs, report issues, and take full ownership of follow-up actions to ensure resolution.
Required Skills and Experience:
7+ years of professional experience as a software test engineer or in Test Automation script development and execution.
Proficiency in programming languages like Java, C#, and JavaScript.
Extensive experience in various types of testing including functional, performance, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
5+ years of experience in automating web and API testing.
4+ years of experience in modern automation framework design and development using frameworks like Playwright, Cucumber, Cypress, Mocha, Chai, and Jest (preferred experience with Playwright and Cucumber).
Proficiency in Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
Expertise in setting up test environments, preparing test data, and working with mobile applications, microservices, and distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and Agile/Scrum processes.
Experience with software test tracking tools (JIRA/ADO) and test management tools (QTEST/XRay).
Proficiency in source code management tools (GITLAB/Bitbucket) and CI/CD tools (Gitlab/Jenkins/Harness).
Experience testing REST/SOAP services using API testing tools (Postman, SOAPUI).
Solid understanding of databases and SQL.
Proven ability to prepare detailed status reports.
Excellent communication skills and client coordination.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education/work experience.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with Node.js
Docker expertise
Familiarity with Serenity/SerenityJS
Knowledge of Kubernetes
Experience with A/B Testing, Blue/Green releases, Canary releases, and Feature flags
