Description:
The Production Manager will be responsible for the management, oversight, and upkeep of the plant's day-to-day operation. Duties include Supervision of employees, record keeping, working with leadership to properly forecast production and staffing scheduling, and with the QA technicians and manager to maintain high food safety and quality standards using a risk-based food safety and quality system that challenges Authentico Foods with continuous improvement, organizational culture, standards, and technology. This individual will ensure food safety and quality by implementing the use of proven methods of processing, continuous review/improvement of the system, and validation through extensive internal and external audits.


ESSENSTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


All employees are responsible to report food safety and quality issues to those responsible to initiate action.


  • Employee Safety



    • Perform routine Safety Trainings and Safety Talks

    • Report and Investigate Safety Incidents and ensure all safety concerns are addressed promptly

    • Serve as member of the Safety Committee

    • Reinforce full compliance of OSHA standards including trainings and certifications

    • Ensure grounds and surrounding area is safe for employees and report any concerns to upper management



  • Employee Engagement



    • Responsible for achieving and maintaining Employee Engagement KPI

    • Foster an environment of high morale, collaboration, and living within our Core Values

    • Coach and grow production leaders and staff

    • Exemplify AF Leadership Traits



  • Food Safety and Quality



    • Reinforce full compliance of all USDA, FDA and SQF regulations for the plant

    • Maintain relationship with USDA Inspectors to include answering or addressing their needs

    • Verify and validate all USDA/FDA Records and be able to do so for other plants (if needed).

    • Member of Food Safety Management Team

    • Member of Crisis Response Team

    • Responsible for working with Quality program staff to ensure plant SQF audit performance

    • Responsible for the quality and consistency of all products



  • Production



    • Responsible for the overall performance of the plant

    • Provide ongoing recommendations to leadership about proper staffing needs based on budget and production demands

    • Responsible for the upkeep of all plant equipment and facilities through timely work orders

    • Provide ongoing recommendations to leadership about to execute on the Production Schedule

    • Confirm material stock and availability to execute on the Production Schedule

    • Create and maintain environment of continuous improvement



  • Costs



    • Ensure the minimization of waste and increase of yield (tracked via KPIs)

    • Track and report on all plant costs at Weekly Operations Meeting and be prepared to make recommendations for improvement

    • Ensure accurate inventory control including count accuracy, proper storage, and proper rotation

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE


• Bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English


• Food Service Certificate, HACCP Certificate


• Performance oriented management, fiscal and supervisory skills
