SUMMARY



The Desk Officer will support the Africa Portfolio International (API) office in Washington, DC for the Federal Aviation Administration. This position handles internal FAA and State Department coordination.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Takes the lead on the preparation of all international agreements for the portfolio and coordinates with legal and any other appropriate Lines of Business (LOBs).


Understands the content of the agreement.


Prepares the draft and final agreement documents.


Coordinates and schedules meetings and visits in Washington, D.C, related to the international portfolio. Prepares meeting content for meetings in Washington, DC and sometimes overseas (the overseas scheduling is typically done by the international representatives).


Supports the development of the agenda and any logistics.


Assists with identifying the appropriate FAA participants.


Attends meetings and take notes. Shares the notes with the representatives and the International Program Office manager/stakeholders.


Assists in the preparation of eBooks for larger delegation meetings and airshows.


Takes the lead on assembling all the content and developing the first draft of the ebook and prepares the final ebook.


Works with the international representatives to determine who will prepare the event scenarios (typically done by the international representatives).


Prepares a timeline for the content development and completion of the ebook.


Sends final event scenarios to AUE-10 and AEU-1 for review.


Ensures completion dates are maintained and accurate.


Coordinates the appropriate content with the LOBs, Legal for any ethics issues and any other organizations that may need to review the content.


Compiles the ebook with the appropriate bookmarks, links and maintains version control on schedule.


Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.


Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.


Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree in any field and a minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience, or Master's Degree or MBA in related field and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education/experience.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION



Must be able to obtain a customer clearance for access to facilities, equipment and property (Public Trust clearance).

Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), SharePoint and project management software.


Excellent research and analytical skills with ability to identify problems, determine accuracy / relevance of information, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.


Solid business management skills relevant to carrying out day-to-day responsibilities.


Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to compose meaningful reports and to present research / information with clarity.

Exceptional organization skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and to meet specified deadlines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS



Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.



REASONING ABILITY



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT



The pay range for this role is $69,400 - $70,000 USD Annual, with the final offer amount dependent on location, skillset, and experience.
