POSITION SUMMARY:
DuBois Chemicals is looking for a high performing Technical Sales Representative to support the Peoria, IL territory with excellent upside growth potential. DuBois Specialty Chemicals is committed to ecologically, responsible chemistry, and is continuing to develop proprietary innovative products. Core focus markets include metalworking, surface finishing, pre-treatment, water treatment, cleaning & sanitation, manufacturing and food & beverage. Responsible for providing solutions to our customers by focusing on lowering their total operating costs and consistently exceeding their expectations using our diverse product lines and multiple channels to the market. Demonstrate the company's core competencies of communication, customer focus, innovation, integrity & ethics, lean & safety, and passion to succeed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage/maintain our treatment programs at established customer sites
Manage an existing account base and grow sales in other value-added manufactured products in the company's product offerings
Perform monthly, or as needed, program audit including testing water samples using a portable lab and analyzing results at client sites
Profitably grow a sales territory as well as develop strong customer relationships of existing business
Aggressive customer focus with a strong sales mentality and willingness to learn and grow
Possess strong work ethic and competitive drive
Build robust sales pipeline that supports expected profitable growth
Effectively work collaboratively with team members as well as other functional support employees
Effectively build and maintain long-term customer relationships
Demonstrate a strong technical aptitude, including mechanical aptitude with basic tools
Comfortably making numerous cold calls on a monthly basis
Maintains constant focus on working and driving in a safe manner
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
4 year Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Chemistry, Engineering, Metallurgy, or Applied Science field preferred
Specialty Chemical sales and/or technical sales experience preferred
Proven ability to build/maintain customer relationships at various levels within the customer's organization
High achievement orientation; driven to perform and grow
Strong consultation, negotiation, problem-resolution and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong time management skills with an attention to detail
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Proficient in performing technical/mechanical on-site testing and minor equipment repairs
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to travel up to 25% including some overnight travel
Candidate should live in the Peoria, IL area
