Job Title: Senior Development Engineer




Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Development Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate with our engineering team to optimize, implement, and maintain our organization's cloud-based systems. The candidate will lead software development projects and teams. They are responsible for designing and architecting software solutions, providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, and ensuring the successful delivery of software products. Senior Development Engineers also collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, manage project timelines and resources, and drive continuous improvement in software development practices.


This role is pivotal in ensuring that our cloud computing systems meet the needs of our organization and our customers.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Assist in the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Support the development of automation tools for infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles (e.g., Terraform).

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize and secure cloud environments.

  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure health, identifying and resolving issues.

  • Participate in the migration of on-premise systems to the cloud.

  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices related to cloud deployments and operations.

  • Learn and implement GCP services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and networking features.

  • Assist with troubleshooting cloud services, managing resources, and cost optimization.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP offerings and industry trends.

  • Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.

  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.

  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.

  • Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Interact with other teams, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on team's needs.




Qualifications:




  • Education: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Quantitative or Engineering Field (or equivalent work experience).






  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in cloud computing, preferably with Google Cloud Platform.

  • GCP Associate Cloud Engineer certification or equivalent.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

  • Familiarity with data and analytics platforms (example: data ingestion) and their capabilities.

  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Basic understanding of cloud concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

  • Familiarity with GCP services like Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and networking.

  • Basic experience with Linux/Unix system administration and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager.

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, VPC, firewalls, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
