The Role:


The University of Chicago Crime Lab is seeking a Program Manager to join the team! The Program Manager has a unique opportunity to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the field of community violence intervention to launch and manage a new leadership and management academy. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring project deliverables are completed according to both internal and stakeholder timelines by developing and executing project plans, identifying and mitigating project risks, facilitating communication, and assisting with administrative and logistical tasks.



Job Summary



The University of Chicago Crime Lab is seeking a Program Manager to support the Community Violence Intervention Leadership Academy (CVILA)! The Program Manager has a unique opportunity to support and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the field of community violence intervention by identifying and connecting CVILA students to capacity development resources and technical assistance opportunities. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing capstone projects, student advising, interactive online events, and the development of technical assistance tools and materials. They ensure project deliverables related to capstone and technical assistance are timely completed by developing and executing project plans, identifying and mitigating project risks, facilitating communication, and assisting with administrative and logistical tasks.



Responsibilities



  • Serves as primary point of contact for students, alumni and other stakeholders on matters related to capstones.


  • Recruits, contracts, onboards, and manages capstone advisors.


  • Maintains the capstone curriculum, including developing assignments, developing scoring rubrics, and presenting assignments to students.


  • Reviews capstone assignments and provides written and verbal feedback to students.


  • Identifies and develops technical assistance resources for students.


  • Manages a repository of field support resources and coordinates interactive online events for students, alumni, and other CVI audiences.


  • Participants in internal and external working groups.


  • Defines project milestones, establishes timelines, monitors and tracks project progress, and escalates risks and issues to management as needed.


  • Creates and maintains comprehensive program documentation including detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.


  • Supports development of policies, procedures, and workflows capstones and technical assistance.


  • Ensures that projects progress in accordance with contractual obligations, complies with donor regulations and internal organizational policies.


  • Plans, manages, and reports on tasks and deliverables and serves as primary contact for capstone and graduation week vendors and contractors.


  • Collaborates academic and administrative divisions across campus to support procurement, contracting, and payments.


  • Drafts and publishes communications content through authorized channels, such as website and email, to ensure content is up-to-date and accessible to key stakeholders.


  • Gathers and analyzes data from multiple sources across campus to inform decision-making.


  • Plan, coordinate, manage events and meetings; research logistics, assist with preparing presentations, event outreach, and post-event write ups.


  • Develops and communicates program priorities and performance standards and assesses operations using these criteria. Plans and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as appropriate.


  • Uses in-depth knowledge and experience to administer the delivery of services to program participants and/or beneficiaries such as communicating with programs sponsors and academic advising for undergraduate students.


  • Performs other related work as needed.





Minimum Qualifications




Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, sociology, or a closely related field.


  • Advanced degree strongly preferred.





Technical Knowledge or Skills:



  • Knowledge in the field(s) of higher education, and/or criminal justice, reentry, or violence fields, including knowledge of capacity building, technical assistance, training, or related work.


  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, summarize, and interpret research from a variety of disciplines. Ability to utilize research.


  • Computer Skills: Proficiency Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word preferred. Proficiency in Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by the University


  • Other Skills: Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups in communities, strong group facilitation skills verbal and written communication skills, strong project management skills and an ability to work collaboratively and shepherd projects
