Job Description:

Meta Reality Labs is looking for exceptional interns to help create the next generation of eye tracking for virtual and augmented reality. Our research focuses on true solutions to complex tracking problems, delivering novel technologies and algorithms fundamental to future VR and AR systems. You'll have the unique opportunity to work with industry-leading researchers and engineers who are defining the future of AR/VR.We are seeking candidates with a background in 3D reconstruction and rendering, computer vision, and machine learning, specifically focusing on eyes and/or faces. The preferred candidate will have experience in areas including 3D reconstruction with dynamic deformations, diffusion models, photoreal rendering, novel view synthesis, as well as expertise in deep implicit models, and disentangled latent representation learning. We welcome students with a passion for working in a strongly collaborative team that spans research across algorithms, hardware design and systems prototyping.Our team at Meta Reality Labs offers sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) week long internships and we have various start dates throughout the year.



Research Scientist Intern, 3D Reconstruction and Rendering (PhD) Responsibilities:



  • Fundamental analysis and understanding of computer vision, machine learning and 3D reconstruction

  • Build, simulate and model the performance of computer vision, machine learning, and optical systems for tracking the eye

  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers across diverse disciplines

  • Communication of research agenda, progress and results





Minimum Qualifications:



  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Applied Math, Physics or a related STEM field Creativity and quick problem solving capabilities

  • Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration

  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

  • Programming experience in Python

  • 2+ years of research experience or equivalent graduate research experience in 3D computer vision, Machine Learning





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience generating synthetic data using computer graphics or generative ML, and using synthetic datasets for training and evaluating ML pipelines

  • Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. Github)

  • Experience with diffusion models, domain adaptation, and image-to-image translation

  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship

  • Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated in accepted papers at top computer vision and machine learning related conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, SIGGRAPH, NeurIPS, etc.

$7,500/month to $11,333/month + benefits


Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
