PayPal, Inc. seeks Machine Learning Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA



Job Duties: Develop and validate advance data mining tools, algorithms, and other capabilities to solve business problems. Collaborate with other research scientists and engineers to formulate innovative solutions to experiment and implement advanced data mining techniques. Work with large volumes of data; extract and manipulate large datasets using standard tools such as Python, Hadoop, R, SQL. Analyze data covering a wide range of information from user profile to transaction history. Identify new risk patterns through data mining. Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner through creative visualization. Write clean, high-performance, high-quality, maintainable code to process data related to payment processing from PayPal and its partners, such as code to clean and transform data from various data sources, tools, and vendors, into usable tables and files. Develop novel data mining techniques and algorithms to ensure the quality of the data as well as to maintain its secure storage and use at PayPal. Utilize data to address complex business requirements at PayPal, by applying data mining and machine learning algorithms to extract underlying patterns and business insights in the data. Telecommuting permitted - work can be performed from anywhere in the US


Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

1. Machine Learning, recommendations systems, pattern recognition, datamining. Developing machine learning models at scale from inception to business impact.


2. Predictive Analytics - Developing highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules based models.

Additional Job Description:



Base salary: $140,000-204,600 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
