RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Principal Azure Systems Engineer in Dallas, TX.

Key Tasks:

• Principal Azure Systems Engineer will develop and maintain solutions in cloud and virtualized environments, with a focus on hybrid cloud setups


• Serve as the System Administrator, ensuring the availability and reliability of both packaged and custom applications within Microsoft Azure

Manage the lifecycle of various Windows and Linux systems, including design, upgrades, patches, and decommissioning; This includes:

• Directory services


• Azure storage solutions


• Application services


• Backup and disaster recovery solutions


• Network configurations


• Virtual machines
• Collaborate with security and application support teams to implement fixes, security updates, and conduct compatibility and quality assurance tests


• As a principal Azure Systems Engineer, you will establish and manage monitoring, metrics, logging, and alerting systems using Microsoft Azure and Datadog


• Document detailed procedures and troubleshooting steps for system and network software and hardware


• Provide technical support and guidance to other IT professionals


• The team is responsible for training other team members and bringing up ideas on how to move forward


• They will serve as the Azure expert, with extensive experience in the field, including working with Express Routes and Virtual Networks (VNets)

REQUIREMENTS:

• The team primarily works with Azure Cloud, with some experience in AWS, but 90% of their work is in Azure


• They are well-versed in various Azure services, including Storage, Virtual Machines (VM), and Application Gateway


• They have expertise in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, as well as applying patches


• The team possesses networking experience and has exposure to DevOps practices, although they are not required to perform DevOps tasks themselves


• They adopt a modernization approach and have a good understanding of it from this perspective, including filling gaps and other related aspects

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
