Our Paint Line Team Members are an integral part of the American Products team. They are responsible for ensuring our parts are powder painted with superior quality with cone, disk or nozzle type industrial equipment.
A Paint Line Team Members will be assigned to a part of the line, but may switch stations in the assembly process at manager or supervisor designation or request.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Moves switches and dials to start flow current, and to activate conveyor, as well as paint spraying equipment.
Turns valves and observes gauges to set pressure and to control flow of paint to each spray station.
Hangs parts as they come off the line.
Inspects painted units for runs, sags, or unpainted areas.
Re-adjusts pressure valves to control direction and pattern of spray, and to correct flaws in coating.
Cleans paint from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyor hooks or grid, and from disks, cones, spray heads, and hoses.
Hand sprays parts to cover unpainted areas or to apply rust preventative.
Mixes paint according to specifications with viscometer to regulate consistency according to changes in atmospheric conditions.
Complies with SDS requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; not required
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
Prefer thorough understanding of powder painting, including related equipment, ovens, conveyor systems, and washing equipment.
Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, shop floor documentation, customer specifications/diagrams, instructions provided by supervisors/managers.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience, in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to complete rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
